NOVEMBER 22 2020 – “WE MUST PUT THE LOCAL PLAN ON HOLD”

The Prime Minister has pledged to invest a further £40m to protect the environment, address the biodiversity loss, create more green spaces, restore woodland and expand wildlife habitats.

Homes England’s £3bn masterplan of building 10,000 houses within the historic Parish of Ifield – rich in green spaces, ancient woodland and wildlife habitats – runs counter to this ministerial pledge.

It is never too late to have a rethink.

We call upon Horsham District Council to put the Local Plan on hold – a moratorium – until the serious problems of the government’s planning reforms [eg “mutant algorithms”] are sorted out at the local, regional and national level.
