‘Eeyore’s Eyesores’ Ramblette [short walks around the ancient Parish of Ifield] took place this morning.
Eeyore and his friends passed by at least 20 ‘Private Land’ eyesores in Ifield Brook Meadows and beyond.
HCA – Homes & Communities Agency government quango [now called Homes England] – have promised to take down the offending signs.
Yeah, and we saw flying pigs landing at Gatwick.

The offending ‘Private Land’ signs remain in place six years later.
Another broken promise by this government quango.

“Strategic lead for large multi phase development sites and projects, managing infrastructure and housing delivery to accelerate the disposal of the government’s surplus public sector land in Southern England. Project lead for promoting the allocation of Ifield, a 10,000 home development area west of Crawley”
This was from one of Ken Glendinning Homes England pages, Just goes to show .He regards west of ifield a place that has Ancient woodland, open fields, river’s and hedgerows as just SURPLUS GOVERNMENT LAND. Homes England state that west of ifield will be similar to their flag ship town of Northstowe ,what they fail to mention is that it is being built on the brown field site of an old Airfield base and they did not have to concrete over country side to build it !

And if Mr Glendinning of Homes England considers this ancient parish “surplus public sector land”, then why has he and his government quango littered this beautiful area with ugly “Private Land” signs?!
