Dear Editor
It is becoming increasingly clear Homes England’s ‘West of Ifield’ development masterplan has not, does not, and will not meet the national/statutory standards required by Historic England or Natural England within this Parish [‘Integrated landscape’, Crawley Observer, July 27] – an ancient area of unique character and heritage which includes a Local Nature Reserve LNR – Willoughby Fields, a Local Green Space LGS – Ifield Brook Meadows, and a Site of Nature Conservation Interest SNCI – Ifield Millpond and Bewbush Water Gardens.
It doesn’t need a new consultation – nor a planning inspector – to tell us that.
Yours sincerely
Richard W. Symonds

Dear Henry Smith MP
As an official drought emergency is likely to be declared, and the water crisis has become a security issue, I call upon you as my MP to ensure Crawley Borough Council, West Sussex County Council and Horsham District Council work together to halt Homes England’s ‘West of Ifield’ masterplan before any further damage is done to our community heritage.
Thank you for giving this your earliest possible attention.
