Water investigation works at West of Ifield

A programme of water investigation works will take place at West of Ifield from Monday 21st October 2024 and continue through to February 2025. These works are part of Homes England’s response to water neutrality and minimising environmental impacts of the proposed development.

This program of investigations, carried out under Environment Agency License, are one element of a wider package of works that are required at pre-planning stage for this site. A range of investigations take place as standard practice ahead of planning for sites of this scale.

The work on-site will be carried out by Drillcorp Ltd and will include two boreholes being drilled at different depths to allow the contractor to test the pressure and quality of underground water during this time. Some weekend will be required however this will be kept to a minimum.

The proposed drilling works will take place within the first six weeks, with the remainder of the activity focused on observing water capacity and quality. We are not expecting these works to cause disruption to local homeowners and will aim to carry out work and traffic movement to minimise any impact on the local community.  The bridle paths and public open spaces will remain open throughout this period of investigation.
