January 16 2025 [Thursday] – The Cancelled West of Ifield Hearing Day

DECEMBER 16 2024 – ‘CANCELLATION’ LETTER FROM THE PLANNING INSPECTOR TO HORSHAM DISTRICT COUNCIL
“I am writng now because I have significant concerns about the soundness and legal compliance of the Plan in respect of a number of areas. I will set these out in detail in a separate letter as soon as I possibly can” – L. Fleming [Planning Inspector]
JANUARY 12 2025 – ‘A PERSONAL VIEW’ – RICHARD W. SYMONDS [THE IFIELD SOCIETY]
Next Thursday (16th) would have been the ‘West of Ifield’ Hearing Day. We were all prepared to do battle – SWOI, CPRE, Ifield Society, CBC et al.
To my mind, HDC and Homes England would have had a catastrophic day. The Planning Inspector saved them from total humiliation by cancelling after three days. He has yet to send HDC his “separate letter”. If he ever does send it, I sense it will be more disastrous for HDC and Homes England than if next Thursday took place. It has the potential of ‘blowing out of the water’ the West of Ifield development masterplan.
My guess is the “separate letter” expected from the Planning Inspector to HDC – if it is ever written – will be a condensed version of what would have been said at the ‘West of Ifield’ Hearing planned for next Thursday [16th] – but cancelled before Christmas
In other words, the cancelled ‘West of Ifield’ Hearing next Thursday [16th] would have been confirmation the Planning Inspector was right to cancel the Horsham Local Plan Examination after 3 days.
Next Thursday [16th] would have been Day 9 of the Horsham Local Plan Examination – West of Ifield. As we already know, the Planning Inspector cancelled the Examination on Day 3 just before Christmas, stating:
“I am writing now because I have significant concerns about the soundness and legal compliance of the Plan in respect of a number of areas. I will set these out in detail in a separate letter as soon as I possibly can”
We await this “separate letter” with considerable interest.
If the insanity is accepted, then the masterplan is rational.
Or are we all being played by those with the power to rig the democratic planning system?
